BORDE HILL HORSE TRIALS 2

Due to one of the organisers ongoing ill health and also to facilitate major plans for Borde Hill 1 in 2009 this event is cancelled BUT

Borde Hill Equestrian intends to hold an unaffiliated competition on the same weekend including horse trials.

Please make sure you note the date.

Grassroots challenges at Borde Hill

Another full season of equestrian events is on offer at the spectacular Grade II* English Heritage listed Garden and Parkland setting of Borde Hill near Haywards Heath, in West Sussex. The exciting programme covers horse trials, hunter trials, carriage driving and the annual sponsored ride.

The season opens with the first of two British Eventing Horse Trials, sponsored by JH Builders and Bill Kear Arenas & Gallops supporting the MS Society on Sunday 25th & Bank Holiday Monday 26th May. All three cross-country courses make full use of the terrain with its undulating contours and glistening lakes as well as the feature Bill Kear Arenas & Gallops water complex.

This is followed on Saturday 31st May by the first of two Kent & Surrey Bloodhounds Hunter Trials (www.kentandsurreybloodhounds.co.uk) which uses some of the British Eventing courses as well as its own hunter trial course.

On Sunday 22nd June Borde Hill hosts the British Riding Clubs Area 10 Horse Trials Qualifier which again makes full use of the BE courses.

Brockham Harness Club’s Two-Day Carriage Driving Trials again run alongside Borde Hill Country Fair on Saturday & Sunday 16th-17th August and there will be other equestrian attractions on offer (www.brockhamharnessclub.co.uk).

The British Heart Foundation Sponsored Ride opens the autumn events on Sunday 7th September and is followed a week later on Sunday 14th September by the second Kent & Surrey Bloodhounds Hunter Trials. The second B.E Horse Trials closes the season on Saturday & Sunday 11th-12th October.

Due to a difficult 2007 for all concerned, not least with the cancellation of three events due to Foot & Mouth, Borde Hill Equestrian will only be making minor changes for the spring but in order to enhance this cross-country venue’s enormous potential major changes are planned which may hopefully start in the summer.

Volunteers are always very welcome at all the events. For companies interested in sponsorship a selection of beneficial opportunities are now available to promote your services and products at one of the most spectacular SE venues in this glorious parkland setting below the impressive mansion house and to help ‘feed the grassroots and groom the stars of the future.’
